Itinerary

Day 1 Tuesday Kusadasi:

You are free to check into your hotel in Kusadasi anytime, and tomorrow evening you will meet your tour guide and fellow travellers. Overnight Kusadasi (D)

Day 2 Wednesday Ephesus, Kusadasi

Take a stroll through the Temple of Artemis today and absorb yourself in the historical ambience of Ephesus. We will continue to the house of the Virgin Mary after experiencing the mysterious atmosphere of the city and theatre. We will learn the ancient art of carpet weaving and the significance of its value at the carpet village. Overnight Kusadasi (B, D).

Day 3 Thursday Pamukkale, Hierapolis:

This morning, we will tour the Travertines in Pamukkale, a geological wonder composed of white calcium terraces, before enjoying a presentation by a local leather artisan. We will also tour the ancient city of Hierapolis, which is nestled among the ancient columns. We will finish our day by soaking in the hot springs, which, in Roman times, were renowned for their therapeutic benefits.

Day 4 Friday Aphrodisias, Fethiye

Today we drive South towards the Mediterranean coast, visiting the ancient site of Aphrodisias along the way.

Day 5 Saturday Fethiye

Choose between a relaxing day cruise around the 12 Fethiye islands or an optional day tour to Saklikent Gorge, Turkey's longest and deepest canyon.

Day 6 Sunday Kayakoy, Antalya

It's a lovely morning, but we have to hurry to Antalya, a resort town, to visit the deserted Greek village of Kayakoy.

Day 7 Monday Perge, Aspendos

Take a walk through the ancient ruins of Perge to see the stadium walls, one of the best-preserved theatres in Asia Minor, which is still in use today.

Day 8 Tuesday Konya, Cappadocia

We are stopping en route to visit the mausoleum of Mevlana Celaleddin Rumi and the museum in Konya this afternoon, both in Cappadocia.

Day 9 Wednesday Goreme, Uchisar Castle

Take a fully guided tour of Goreme Valley, the fairy chimneys, Uchisar castle, and other lunar landscapes. Tonight, don't miss the optional Turkish folklore show! Overnight in Cappadocia (B, D).

Day 10 Thursday Ihlara Valley, Underground City

Today we trek through the wildly beautiful Ihlara Valley and explore the many levels of an underground city.

Day 11 Friday Ankara

We will visit Anitkabir, the tomb of Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Turkish Republic, prior to returning to Istanbul.

Day 12 Saturday Istanbul:

Our tour ends after breakfast, and we say goodbye to our new friends, who then take us to the airport for your onward flight.
